Upper School (Grades 9-12)
College Preparatory Curriculum. St. Croix Preparatory Academy Upper School offers a college preparatory curriculum. Many students begin taking Advanced Placement (AP) tests in their sophomore year. For a detailed 2010-2011 Curriculum Guide, please click here.
Educational Travel. St. Croix Prep believes in the value of educational travel.
Rome & Florence, Italy. In 2009-2010, all juniors and seniors had the opportunity to participate in a summer trip to Rome and Florence Italy. where they visit the Colosseum, Arch of Constantine, Castel Sant Angelo, Pantheon, Vatican City, Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, Galleria Borghese, Catacombs, Roman Forum, Uffizi Gallery, Piazza del Duomo, Baptistry of St. John, Piazza di Santa Maria, Giotto's Bell Tower and the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. Another international travel opportunity is under evaluation. More details will follow.
Extracurricular Activities. St. Croix Prep continues to increase its extra curricular offering which now includes Student Council, yearbook, One Act Play, Speech, Drama, Band, Orchestra, Choir, Ski Club, Archery Club, Chess Club, Soccer Club, Basketball, and Peer Tutoring.
College Counseling. St. Croix Prep offers college counseling services to its students to ensure they receive guidance and assistance in taking their next step of life long learning. St. Croix Prep personnel and students utilize Naviance as a way of serving students' needs in their evaluation of post secondary options. Naviance is the leading provider of planning and advising systems for secondary schools. Nearly 40,000 educators and counselors serving more than 3.5 million students in schools across the U.S. and in 60 other countries use Naviance products to manage academic and post-secondary advising, communicate with students and families, and analyze data.
Service Hours for Graduation. As an emphasis upon Character, all students are required to perform 50 hours of service (10 hours in grades 9-11 and 20 hours in grade 12) in order to fulfill their graduation requirements.
