A Message From the Health Office

Hello Families,

We recognize that it is allergy season and with the start of school the common cold has also returned. These symptoms are the same as those associated with COVID. When a student stays home with any symptoms associated with COVID all siblings must also stay home.
Per the MDH guidelines the symptoms associated with COVID are:
  • sore throat
  • nausea
  • vomiting
  • diarrhea
  • chills
  • muscle pain
  • excessive fatigue
  • new onset of severe headache
  • new onset of nasal congestion or runny nose
  • fever 100.4 or greater
  • new onset and/or worsening cough
  • difficulty breathing
  • new loss of taste or smell
With our county case rate data being >10 a student with even just ONEsymptom needs to stay home, along with any siblings, and the student with symptoms needs to be evaluated.

If a student comes to the Health Office with any of the above symptoms, following the guidelines, we will need to send them and any siblings home.

We need a doctor’s note stating an alternative diagnosis (symptoms are not from COVID) or a negative COVID test result before the student with symptoms and the siblings can return to school.

Please contact the attendance line AND the school nurse (nurse@stcroixprep.org) whenever a student has symptoms associated with COVID.

We know this hard, but we thank you for your help and cooperation in keeping our community healthy and safe during this pandemic,
