Free Meals to Students

Our free meal service to students has begun and will be served weekdays to any child in our community between the ages of 1 and 18.
Meals will include a lunch as well as breakfast items for the following day. Meals will be served on a first come/first served basis. You will not be asked to fill out any paperwork and no names will be taken; you just need to show up to pick up your meal.
Families can pick up meals between 11:15 a.m. and noon at St. Croix Prep. Meals will be distributed from the north ‘back’ cafeteria door (the school’s ‘bus’ entrance).
Please email Marianne Thole, Food Service Director, with any questions:

Emergency Childcare

Governor Walz has directed schools to provide free childcare during school hours to children of emergency workers, which the Minnesota Department of Education has further defined in the document, “School-Age Care for Children of Emergency Workers.” The State is also allowing districts to provide fee-based extended care to that same population for emergency worker parents who require longer coverage. The extended care portion of childcare (6:30-9:30 am and 4:00-6:00 pm) is free at St. Croix Prep at this time, but may become fee-based as the school year progresses.
St. Croix Prep will provide emergency childcare from 6:30 am-6:00 pm each weekday in the St. Croix Prep cafeteria. This will be staffed by the YMCA childcare staff.
St. Croix Prep Educational Assistants will support attending students with their distance-learning work, beginning on Monday, March 30, from 9:30-4:00 pm, No distance learning support will be offered between 6:30-9:30 am and 4:00-6:00 pm. To guarantee access to a computing device, students are asked to bring their own device and headsets to childcare.

Click the button below to reserve emergency childcare at St. Croix Prep for your K-6 grade child(ren) for the following dates: March 30-April 10 (note: additional dates will be added as directed by the Governor). You may be asked to provide verification of employment (ID badge or letter from your employer) when dropping off your child(ren).
