Stay at Home Order

Today, Minnesota Governor Walz announced a Stay at Home Order which will go into effect at 11:59 pm on Friday, March 27 and last until April 10, 2020. In addition, the Minnesota Department of Education Commissioner announced that Distance Learning will be in effect from March 30 until at least April 30. The current plans are for all school employees to report to school on May 1 and May 4 to plan for school reopening on May 5 – this is subject to reevaluation. We have been anticipating and preparing for this type of announcement — we were hoping that our planning would be in vain. It is a new adventure for all of us . . . and it will be ok.

Distance Learning begins on Monday, March 30

We are prepared to begin our distance learning program on March 30. We know you, and your children, have been receiving communication related to the commencement of this. We want to gradually roll this out, get everyone comfortable with how this works, and we will make adjustments along the way. Any division or classroom changes will be communicated to you by the Principals or teachers.

Extra-Curricular Activities are Suspended by the MSHSL

Due to the Governor’s announcement, all participation in Minnesota State High School League spring activities is suspended. Participation includes, but is not limited to, competitions, training, practices, scrimmages, and contests. St. Croix Prep Activities Director, Rich Dippel, will host an online meeting on Thursday, March 26 at 2:00 pm to answer questions and offer additional information related to this. Please contact him for meeting details.

St. Croix Prep Building & Campus Closed

Until further notice, the entire building and campus of St. Croix Prep remains closed to the public. This includes the main building, gym, weight room, playground, and athletic fields.

St. Croix Prep, On-Site Essential Workers

In accordance with the Governor’s Executive Order, St. Croix Prep will continue to provide childcare for qualifying emergency workers and meals for those families in need. In addition, the main office of St. Croix Prep will be staffed during normal business hours, from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Our Communication with Minnesota Agencies

We continue to have daily conference calls with the MN Department of Education and weekly calls with the Minnesota Department of Health. As we monitor the details of all of this, we will keep you informed. So, here we are. As we all try to figure this out together, be as calm as you can, take deep breaths, go for walks, and know that as we roll out our learning program, we are trying to provide stability and routine for your family. As we do this together, let us know how we can help.
