Updates for Thursday, September 3

St. Croix Prep Community,

We just received the updated county case rate data from the Minnesota Department of Health. The Washington County case rate data for August 9 through August 22 is 22.70.


 We weren’t anticipating this significant of a rate jump (and retroactive adjustment of the data), but given the requirements under the learning model we may need to make some adjustments to classroom configurations, limit occupancy by classroom, and potentially change class rosters. These changes will primarily apply to Lower School and Middle School.
For those families who may still be considering a distance learning choice, if you could let us know by tomorrow, it would help us make our adjustments.

Washington County Case Rate Data – from August 27

Minnesota’s Safe Learning Plan uses the number of Covid-19 cases by county over 14 days per 10,000 people. Given the county’s case rate, schools have the flexibility of opening in the following models:

Model Applied to St. Croix Prep

St. Croix Prep is located in Washington County. At the time of the Governor’s announcement (July 30), Washington County’s current case rate was 14.84. Revised case rate data is released every Thursday. The September 3 Washington County case rate is 22.70. Per the MDH, the following is the Washington County historical case rate data:
  • August 2 to August 15 – 20.61
  • July 26 to August 8 – 19.38
  • July 19 to August 1 – 17.57
  • July 12 to July 25 – 16.26
  • July 5 to July 18 – 15.63
  • June 28 to July 11 – 13.15
