Culture Survey: April Courage and May Service
April Courage & May Service
From the school culture survey, we agree that students engage in meaningful community service both at SCPA and in community organizations. Students are willing to step up and help others.
However, students reported struggling to stand up for what they believe in and to try new things. All too often our students follow the crowd, and we encourage them to do what they know is right even if it means moving against the crowd.
How we can support this in our community:
- Continue to look for new and meaningful service opportunities in the wider community, and invite others to join (service)
- Encourage students to speak up and question when something doesn’t feel right (courage)
Reminder: Our two major findings we want to work on from Kindergarten through Seniors include
- Doing the right thing when adults are not present
- Including others, even if they are not a friend

Reminder Regarding Negative Lunch Balances
Friendly reminder that negative balance notices are once again occurring twice a week. Your child may have a negative balance if: they purchased a milk with a cold lunch from home (all divisions), have been charged a la carte pricing for their meal (if they did not have a fruit or vegetable serving on their tray), purchased a second entree (upper school only) or had a negative balance carry over from last year. Thank you!
Please review the free school lunch policy here. Click here to review the negative lunch balance policy.
