Wolf Ridge

Fifty middle schoolers attended the 2,000-acre Wolf Ridge campus in Finland, Minnesota. During their stay, they stepped outside their comfort zones on the ropes course and indoor rock-climbing wall while encouraging one another and building confidence. They explored a bog during a frog and toad class, learning firsthand about the plants and animals that call wetlands home. In the Voyageurs class, students learned about Minnesota’s early voyageurs, paddled canoes to an inlet, and took on different roles to experience what life and work may have been like during that time. They also put their navigation skills to the test during an orienteering activity, using maps and clues to find a hidden message in the woods. The trip was filled with hands-on learning, adventure, and teamwork.

This is an annual trip offered each summer in middle school. Information about the 2027 trip will be released in January.
