It’s time to start thinking about June...
Is your child loving school, meeting benchmarks, and is sad to see the year end? Are some concepts difficult in school? Does your child forget math facts over the summer? Could continued reading instruction better prepare your child for next year? Would your child benefit from maintaining a structured morning routine? If you answered YES to any of these questions, consider enrolling your child in summer school!
St. Croix Prep offers summer school for the lower school from June 8-– 25 for students entering 1st through 5th grade.
What is Summer School?
Summer school is for students currently in kindergarten through 4th grade. The programming offers a fun enrichment to address the skills previously learned during the school year. It is targeted so that students refresh their minds and enhance their skills through a less formal program than the traditional school year. It is taught by SCPA Lower School teachers, and it is a great way to support students in maintaining all of the skills learned throughout the regular school year.
When is Summer School?
June 8 – June 25
Mondays through Thursdays
8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
Drop-off/pick-up times are 8:15 a.m./10:45 a.m.
** If students attend the Y-Care Summer Power at SCPA, they are walked over by the classroom teacher. Y-Care and SCPA work together to ensure that students are able to participate in all field trips.
How much does Summer School cost?
Summer school costs a flat fee of $150 for the 3 weeks. There is no penalty for missing days of summer school. Daily attendance is not mandatory to accommodate family vacations and/or Y- Care field trips.
Are uniforms required for summer school?
No. Uniform attire is not required for summer school!
What Summer School is not...
Summer school is not the Extended School Year (ESY) support program for students who qualify for special education and an IEP. Please contact your child’s case manager for questions or eligibility related to ESY and the IEP. ESY is free for students who qualify and will run Mondays through Thursdays from July 6 – July 23, from 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. Your student may attend both the general education summer school program for a fee and the ESY program at no cost. ***
***Please note: the general education summer school program is open to all students; Yet, special education services/supports/providers are not available during this program.
